MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: (1) A bacheloregree from an accredited college or university. (2) Fiscal experience can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required education. (3) Professional or non-professional accounting experience can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required education. (4) Any combination of this experience and college education at the rate of 30 semester or 45 quarter hours for each year can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required education. (5) Completion of a 720-hour program of study from a vocational/technical school or accredited community college in the area of accounting can substitute for one year of the required experience.
DUTIES: Audits, examines, analyzes, interprets and processes all types of vendor payments. Applies various coding techniques and independent application of a variety of accounting skills to distribute and account for costs using FLAIR and My Florida Market Place (MFMP) databases. This position reconciles invoices in MFMP and records payment detail using an excel spreadsheet. Must have the ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to an accounting program and make applicable processing decisions. All duties of this position must be performed in compliance with Section 215.422, Florida Statute, 69I-24 and 69I-40 of the Florida Administrative Code, the Department of Financial Services Reference Guide for State Expenditures and other applicable internal policy and procedure guidelines. Monitors and resolves payment discrepancies in compliance with the Prompt Payment Law. Provide timely responses to internal and external customernquiries in a timely manner.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures; knowledge of personal computers; ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to an accounting program; ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; ability to work independently; ability to analyze and interpret accounting data and ability to utilize problem solving techniques.
Preference may be given to current FDLE members that have satisfactorily completed their probationary period or served at least one year in their current position. Preference may be given to applicants in the State Personnel System who have satisfactorily completed their probationary period or served at least one year in their current position.
