Amazon's Legal Department is looking for an attorney with experience in corporate compliance programs and internal investigations to join its global legal compliance and ethics program. The position is based in Dubai, UAE.
Responsibilities: As senior corporate counsel, you will have several key roles. You will design, administer, and support Amazon's legal compliance and ethics program in the Middle East. This includes leading our annual risk assessment; providing compliance advice and guidance to attorneys and business leaders globally; working with attorneys and business leaders throughout the organization to monitor, track, and help manage our compliance and training goals; and coordinating with the company's Risk Management, Internal Audit, HR, and Finance teams. You will also monitor, supervise, and independently conduct internal investigations of fraud allegations and other potential legal and regulatory issues.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS · 10+ years of experience, including at least 5 years regulatory or compliance experience with corporations, law firms, or government agencies
· Juris Doctor (JD) or foreign equivalent
· Anti-corruption and bribery experience including counseling and defense
· Ability and willingness to travel and work extended hours when necessary
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS · Hands-on project management experience, including the ability to manage a large number and variety of mission-critical projects, working independently and often in ambiguous environments
· Sound and practical business judgment as well as common sense
· Familiarity with Internet, retail, software and/or media industries and the legal and regulatory environment in which they operate
· Team player and consensus builder with great people skills and a good sense of humor who can effectively and efficiently collaborate and build relationships with attorneys and business clients at all levels throughout the organization
· Highest standards of ethics and professional integrity
· Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, as well as demonstrated proficiency in working closely with and advising senior executives of an organization
· Experience in crisis management and response
· Language skills, specifically Arabic
