Functional Tasks:
- Provide customer focus by ensuring that Desktop Management services are delivered to meet customer business needs and expectations.
- Operate desktop hardware/ software/mobile computing device configurations in conformity with Company standards and procedures.
- Assist with performing proof of concept / pilot testing / prototyping of new technologies, architectures and solutions that enhance user computing practice.
- Provide technical consultancy on infrastructure, application, mobile computing devices to the business.
- Work with local companies to ensure that desktop standards are adopted, implemented and maintained appropriately.
- Escalate incidents and problems, as necessary, to the appropriate team, Site Information technology Delivery or vendor, while actively retaining ownership of the incident on behalf of the customer.
- Manage third parties working on desktop maintenance/enhancements to ensure that effective 3rd party service is being delivered.
- Establish strong working relationships and knowledge between Site Information technology and other support teams.
- Actively engage users when they report issues and notify users upon resolution.
- Be aware of service interruptions and follow up closely until resolution.
- Ensure appropriate levels of equipment spares are maintained across the business.
- Seek opportunities, develop and maintain knowledge. Receptive to executeance and developmental feedback.
- Evaluate all Change Requests that impact users. User practice before and after implementation must not change and any change must be actively communicated and managed.
- Assist with planning, testing, implementation and operation of the thin client, desktop, mobile computing devices and laptop environments, including upgrades, new software distributions, anti-virus updates and security patches, while ensuring that change control procedures are followed.
- Provide end-user training and preparation of the related materials.
- Create and maintain documentations for site Information technology operations support eg. Desktop configuration documentation, end-user PC equipment deployment records and upkeep of knowledgebase related site Information technology operations issues.
- Upkeep and maintain an accurate record for site Information technology PC and equipment inventory.
Service Management:
- Maintains as knowledge of customer Service Level Agreements.
- Deliver support and change requests within agreed service levels and budgetary guidelines defined in the Company’s Information technology Service Level Agreement.
- Develop, implement, maintain, and ensure adherence to Information technology support procedures.
- Develop and implement operational continuous improvement, service efficiency initiatives, application improvement, and application rationalization to better serve Company business needs.
Planning and Controlling:
- Perform all assigned tasks under minimum supervision and as per plan.
Resource Management:
- Share ideas and practice with team members and promote teamwork in problem resolution. Share best-practices and cross-train other team members in business process and technical expertise.suitable education
- University graduate, majoring in the area of Information Systems / Computer Science related field or equivalent practice.
Working practice:
- At least 3 years in desktop support environment and server or network work practice.
- Any previous practice in supporting top management VIPs is preferred.
Technical & Professional Knowledge:
- Language expertise: English and Mandarin are compulsory. (in order to contact with Mandarin speaking associates)
- In-depth knowledge of (preferably with support practice):
- Thin-client hardware, system architectures and operations.
- practice in supporting mobile device computing like Laptops, IPad, mobile phones, plus CCTVs, and PBX.
- Windows 10 configuration and troubleshooting.
- Video Conferencing solutions.
- An knowledge of:
o Cisco routers, switches and network cable management.
o LAN/MAN/WAN/VLAN and VOIP technologies.
o Desktop/ laptop and printing hardware.
o Windows server technologies.
o Exchange mail server technologies.
o Security concepts and technologies.
- Individual must be able to demonstrate strong work ethics which focuses on integrity, sense of responsibility, emphasis on quality, discipline and sense of teamwork.
- Strong learning aptitude. Self starter and works under minimum supervision. Able to execute tasks independently.
- Possess excellent soft expertise and be cost conscious.
- knowledge of how Information technology infrastructure and applications are able to support business processes and other software applications.
- Interest in learning new technologies and keeping self up to date with latest technology offerings.
- Effectively able to apply structured problem solving expertise and available tools to quickly evaluate problems, identify root cause, action plans, impacts and resolution options.
- capability to efficiently multi-task and be self-motivated while working with others.
- capability to remain cool and controlled in a crisis and when under pressure.
- capability to convey information to both a technical and non-technical audience.
