Purpose of job: The Software Engineering Manager supports The Collaboratory's vision of making the STB and tourism industry more agile, innovative and user-centric. This is with the aim of building stronger resilience for the organisation and industry, by leveraging the exciting opportunities afforded by technology to meet evolving visitor and business needs.
Main Responsibilities: You will be part of the Technology Development team which develops digital products for visitors to Singapore, in order to enable a seamless, enriching, and memorable experience for them. You will oversee the technical delivery of key digital products such as the Visit Singapore App and the Visit Singapore Kiosk. Your responsibilities include:
- Day-to-day guidance of the software development team comprising six developers, two testers and two UI/UX designers
- Develop technical strategy for product features, applying a strong user-centric lens
- Solve complex development issues and removal of blockers, through working with other technology and business units
- Ensure security and compatibility with STB's development environment and government IT guidelines
- Evaluate suitability of various platforms, frameworks and tools to be integrated into the product roadmap
- Collaborate with internal STB units and industry players, where relevant, for integration of product features in external environments
- Collaborate with external developer relations teams e.g. Apple, Google to support the introduction of product features that leverage frontier technologies and frameworks
This job role calls for an experienced individual who has a proven track record in delivering user-centric digital products, with a strong interest and awareness of emerging technologies and new frameworks.
Requirement : - At least 3 years of experience in leading a software engineering team
- Experience working with agile/scrum development teams
- Familiar with security and compliance rules in the government, banking or sectors with high security requirements
- Scrum certification
- Design thinking skills
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong interest and awareness of new technologies
- Well-versed in both iOS and Android platforms (preferably fluent in Swift and Kotlin)
- Familiar with AWS and devops environment setup
