Job description: JOB DESCRIPTION Provide data management support to research groups within the school and for external collaborations.
» Prepare SQL scripts and stored procedures to execute reproducible data extraction for research requests, patching and cleaning for preparation of research data.
» Process, fulfil and provision requests for research data from internal and external collaborators.
» Assist with data preparation and transformation efforts to enable new uses of datasets.
» Work with Research and Operations staff to resolve data discrepancies and support day to day production data issues in collection systems.
» Write database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for data dictionaries.
» Maintaining data standards, including adherence to Personal Data Protection Act/Human Biomedical Research Act and internal processes.
» Assist to generate reports from research data, medical devices and instruments.
» Assist in online survey forms creation for data collection (e.g. form design and validation rules)
» Assist customer's development of internal processes
» Support new uses of data within the school as projects arise or other tasks as assigned.
The function will require close collaboration with multiple teams, including the school Information technology Team (Microsoft environment), Tissue Repository and research groups, as well as National University Health System. A foundational expertise of SQL is a core requirement for this post.
» Recognized degree in computer science or related field with at least 2 years of practice in the areas described in the tasks and responsibilities.
» Good expertise of SQL and Microsoft SQL Server 2008 or above (e.g. capability to author stored procedures, functions, triggers, create tables and views)
» Prior practice with Database Administration, SQL Performance tuning, data modelling, packaging and deployment would be beneficial.
» Good expertise of Microsoft Excel.
» Good team player, able to deal with people of all technical levels.
» Self-motivated with the capability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
» Strong analytical skills and meticulous over details.
» Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
» expertise of OMOP, I2B2, STATA, SPSS, R, Oracle DB, MySQL, RedCap, Tableau or the Microsoft platforms would be advantageous.
