Job description: JOB DESCRIPTION You will be required to execute a wide variety of tasks to ensure that the department operations run smoothly and efficiently. You will manage the day-to-day operations of the department, establish policies and procedures, and plan for the acquisition and assignment of materials and personnel. You may supervise activities related to providing services and coordination.
Other responsibilities include reviewing budgetary information, interpreting financial data, monitoring expense reports, achievement of goals, identifying areas that need improvement in terms of efficiency and performing cost-benefit analysis on internal programs. You may coordinate with other department heads to plan, spearhead and rollout activities.
You will also coordinate key committee work of the department, interface and assist faculty on coursework development, contact and liaison with external groups, such as government organizations and industry. You will assist in the development of accreditation plans, schedule, materials and committees. You will assist the Head of Pillar in strategizing and executing a number of key initiatives: curriculum, laboratories, research clusters, industry support, PhD program, PostDoc program, faculty meetings, etc.
You should have an analytical mind and the capability to communicate in a persuasive and clear manner. You will also be required to analyze data and information for reports.
You should possess a University Degree, or related disciplines with at least 8 years of practice in an academic or research environment. You should be an independent and a resourceful worker as well as an excellent team player with good sensitivity and sensibility for interpersonal, communication, and customer service expertise. Being rigorous, with an eye for detail, will be an additional asset. Possessing excellent writing and presentation development expertise will be an added advantage.
