Job description: JOB DESCRIPTION JOB SCOPE
Junior Sous Chef will be responsible to assist the Chef for preparation of menus and to achieve the highest possible standards in the kitchen, including all food preparation & storage areas, wash up, equipment, utensils and corridors in the defined area. Junior Sous chef will be reporting to Chef.
JOB DESCRIPTIONS » Responsible to prepare everyday buffet breakfast, everyday specials for groups and Ala-carte according to the menus.
» Responsible for ordering of stocks and supplies including cleaning materials.
» Ensure there are adequate stock of food for day-to-day operations.
» Supervise all Kitchen staff with particular reference to hygiene, quality control, service of food, presentation, portion control and equipment.
» Keep all store rooms in a clean, tidy and hygienic manner, including Cold Room and refrigerators and in accurate temperature requirements. JOB REQUIREMENTS
» Possess at least a WSQ Certificate In Culinary Arts/Higher Nitec in Culinary Arts/ Diploma in Culinary Arts or equivalent
» Possess at least two to three (2 to 3) years in hospitality industry.
» Specialized in western and local cuisines with good organizing and coordinating expertise.
» Good communication and interpersonal expertise.
» High integrity and work well under pressure.
» Able to work independently as well as a team.
» Able to work on 3 rotating shifts, including Saturdays & Sundays and public holidays.
» Able to start immediately.
» Preferably candidate that are able to speak and understand English & local Dialects (eg. Hokkien, Teochew).
