Job description: JOB DESCRIPTION The core function of the job is to assist the School towards achieving its strategic objectives - working in teams to constantly devise significant pedagogical approaches and its eventual instructional implementation in class. Teachers are to develop and nurture 21st century competencies, critical thinking and language expertise to enable the holistic development of the students. They are to engage, encourage and prepare students to meet the challenges that arise.
Teachers plan and conduct lessons in line with the school’s strategic thrusts and objectives with the aim of building a culture of learning. They also keep up to date with developments in their subject area, new resources, pedagogies and learning theories.
The tasks and responsibilities include:
» You will assist the respective Head of Department to carry out the following tasks:
» everyday teaching and administrative tasks
» Mentor students on their learning progress and overall development
» Assist to design lessons for students located on SOTA’s school located curriculum
» Any ad-hoc tasks as required by the Reporting agent, Management or the School
Job Specification: » Have a strong commitment to and passion for the arts and education
» Have a thorough knowledge of the teaching subject
» Be self-motivated and innovative
» GCE ‘A’ Level graduates should have good JC Preliminary results, excellent academic and CCA records, and have at least 5 GCE ‘O’ Level passes including a pass in the 1st Language in one sitting
» Exposure to or knowledge of the International Baccalaureate Diploma programme will be an added advantage
» Able to commit from now to end of Term 4
