Job description:

JOB DESCRIPTION The incumbent will:

» Ensure that all faculty members employ 'best evidence and practices' in Medical and Health Professional Education (MHPE) using appropriate pedagogies and technology, and that they manage their teaching professionally

Work as part of Centre for Medical Education (CenMED) Team to:

» Conceptualise, develop and deliver faculty development programs

» Ensure effective and efficient delivery of the programs

» Teach in existing and new faculty development program offered by CenMED

» Drive educational research and scholarship in MHPE

» Provide skills and support to faculty and staff in MHPE and engage in research activities in MHPE

» Develop, deliver and produce new educational initiatives and resources to support the educational development of MHP Educators including e-learning, multi-media material and on-line facilities

» Organise and conduct signature events for CenMED e.g. Certificate of Completion in MHPE, Asia Pacific Medical Education Conference (APMEC)

» Provide educational skills and advice on policy matters to stakeholders such as undergraduate and postgraduate deaneries, ministries and professional bodies

» Manage manuscripts submitted via the CenMED e-Journal portal, including liaising with the authors, reviewers and Editorial Board members

» Manage CenMED Undergraduate Elective Program

» Assist to administer the NUS Teaching Excellence Award

» Other tasks as assigned by Director CenMED or his nominee

» Masters or PhD in medical/health profession education from a reputed university

» Preferably a medical doctor or healthcare professional

» Good track record in research and publication in medical education

» Substantial practice in faculty development, instructional design and curriculum development

» expertise of pedagogy and effective teaching techniques

» practice in teaching and supervising professional staff

» Good written and inter-personal communication skills
