Research adjunct in the Laboratory of adjunct Professor Hiroshi Makino
We are recruiting a highly motivated research adjunct with a strong background in biology or related fields. Our present study focuses on knowledge the function and organisation of cortical circuits in the mammalian brain. We integrate various cutting-edge technologies, including imaging with genetically encoded calcium indicators, electrophysiology, optogenetics and virus mediated circuit mapping to investigate the link between neural circuits and behaviour. We are also incorporating the latest AI technologies into our neuroscience research.
Job responsibilities: - General lab management
- Surgery
- Animal husbandry
- Genotyping
- Histology
Skills and Appropriate qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in neuroscience or related fields
- Previous practice as a research adjunct
- Handling of mice

COMPANY OVERVIEW The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine), a partnership between Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU) and Imperial College London (Imperial), is training a generation of doctors who will put patients at the centre of their exemplary medical care. The School’s primary clinical partner is the National Healthcare Group, a leader in public healthcare recognised for the quality of its medical skills, facilities and teaching. Named after local philanthropist Tan Sri Dato Lee Kong Chian, the School, which was officially opened by Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean on 28 August 2017, is a model for innovative medical education and a centre for transformative research.
Graduates of the five-year undergraduate medical degree programme that started in 2013 will have a strong knowledge of the scientific basis of medicine, along with interdisciplinary subjects including engineering, technology, business and the humanities. Its first doctors will graduate in 2018 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), awarded jointly by NTU Singapore and Imperial.
