JOB DESCRIPTION Summary: The Data Analyst derives insights available administrative databases, surveys, and public information to support policy decisions. He/She uses statistical techniques to project demand for healthcare services, evaluate polices or conduct developmental analytics to improve operations. He/She leads important projects and collaborates with policy stakeholders to understand the context and refine the analysis. He/She enjoys working with data and displays willingness to learn. He/She adopts an analytical approach to solving problems and displays confidence when communicating ideas.
Roles & Responsibilities: - Project demand for healthcare services planning
- Develop demand projection models to reflect trends in utilization or simulate policy changes
- Uncover drivers of underlying trends through data analysis
- Develop geospatial analytical tools to help policy-makers identify underserved areas
- Evaluate policies or programmes to assess impact
- Conduct cost-benefit analysis and economic evaluation to determine the impact of major healthcare programmes
- Use statistical techniques and models to estimate outcomes/impact
- Interpret and communicate findings to facilitate data understanding among stakeholders
- Conduct developmental analytics to improve operations
- Clean databases and perform data validation checks as part of data preparation
- Leverage advanced statistical modelling, machine learning and text mining techniques to develop predictive models on large-scale healthcare related datasets
Requirements: - Masters/Bachelors in Economics, Statistics/Biostatistics/Bioinformatics, Mathematics, Operation Research, Data Science, Business Analytics, or relevant quantitative discipline.
- Experience of at least 2 years working in statistics, economics or data science within the health sector is a plus.
- Good analytical and numerical skills with experience using data analysis tools such as Stata/R/Python to solve real-world problems.
- Effective at communicating data results and methodology
- Able to work independently, and also effective as a team player
- Able to take a broad, strategic perspective while drilling deep to understand business needs and challenges.
