Job description: JOB DESCRIPTION Job Purpose
The candidate will be responsible for Information technology projects delivery and application support for Corporate Systems, this includes applications under the University Campus Infrastructure Cluster, and Web & expertise Management domains. He/she needs to work closely with the user community, external vendors, and other stakeholders.
While the individual will grow in-depth business expertise in the above-mentioned business domain, he/she may be assigned to deliver Information technology projects of other business domain.
tasks & Responsibilities
Project Management
» Accountable for the overall prosperous delivery of project.
» supervises the delivery of projects to ensure that project targets are met. This includes, amongst others, conducting user requirement analysis, participating in solution design, planning and executing testing, deploying solution to 'live' etc.
» Creates and/or reviews project artefacts and deliverables to ensure quality and NUS guidelines and polices are met.
» Manages procurement, including amongst others, preparation and publishing tender specifications, evaluating and recommending potential solutions and/or vendors, contract management etc.
» contacts closely with business users and builds good rapport
» contacts closely with vendors to ensure prosperous delivery of products and/or services in conformity to contract.
» Manages project team to ensure optimization of manpower resources while maintaining a healthy team morale.
Maintenance and Support
» Accountable for the overall prosperous provision of on-going application maintenance and support to ensure SLAs are met.
» supervises and/or provides maintenance and support of applications, including amongst others, delivery of enhancements and bug fixes, managing service requests, troubleshooting of problems etc.
» Creates, updates and/or reviews systems artefacts and deliverables to ensure quality and NUS guidelines and polices are met.
» Performs systems and data analysis including analysing existing system/program logic difficulties, and revising the logic and procedures as necessary.
» Handles audit queries, and ensures audit and security compliance are met.
» contacts closely with business users and build good rapport
» Work closely with business users in annual Information technology project planning and enhancement prioritization.
» contact closely with vendors to ensure prosperous provision of support and maintenance in conformity to contract.
» Manages team to ensure optimization of manpower resources.
Requirements : » Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent
» At least 14 years within Information technology industry, inclusive of 8 years in a technical function, and 6+ years' practice in project management.
» Familiar with Java, .Net, Mobile, Browser located technologies
» Good grasp of Information technology technologies, methodologies, architectures, and best practices.
» Strong business process and analytical skills with the capability to assimilate information quickly, and communicate complex requirements and issues clearly and concisely. The capability to understand the business questions that users are trying to answer is essential.
» Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the capability to interact and communicate effectively with all levels of management, users and vendors
» Must be a self-starter and able to work independently with minimum supervision
» Must be a good team player, proactive in nature, fast learner, highly organized and positive attitude
» Certification in PMP or CITPM will be an added advantage.
» practice in Higher Education industry is a bonus.
