Responsibilities The candidate will join the Manpower Research and Statistics Department, which is responsible for in-depth statistical research and analysis supporting MOM's strategic outcomes.
The candidate will be part of the Data Management team, which handles data processing functions pertaining to the various national surveys and statistical databases, and develop statistical tools for the provision of timely and reliable labour market information. This is to facilitate informed decision making within the government and the community at large.
- Develop, maintain and execute efficient and effective data processing flows for large scale surveys on manpower and manage statistical databases
- Organise and maintain documents and reference material related to the databases needed for accurate coding, extraction and up-keeping of information
- Undertake statistical programming/coding for the provision of information/data in support of analysis
- Handle data requests from the Ministry, external Ministries, Statutory Boards and the general public
Requirements - Preferably 1-2 years of relevant experience in data processing, with knowledge in programming software/ statistical tools like SAS, X-12 ARIMA and Tableau
- Good knowledge of industry, occupation and education classification as well as statistical concepts and definitions
- Expected to gain good knowledge of data limitations and appropriate uses of the statistical databases for various purposes
