Job Summary: The candidate will be responsible for managing projects, implementations and deployments for customers, in ASEAN. The role will require working closely with various departments within Grass Valley, such as: Field Service & Support, Sales Engineering, Sales, Order Management, Logistics and QA departments to ensure the solution is delivered to the customer#s satisfaction. A proven track record of working with demanding customers in 24/7/365 #on-air# environment (broadcasters), and must have experience in deploying large/complex projects.
Responsibilities: Specific duties include but would not be limited to:
- Manage project delivery from beginning to end.
- Drive sales handover process (Scope of Work, Bill of Materials, Risk Registers) prior to project initiation.
- Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.
- Effectively communicate project expectations to customers, team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
- Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
- Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals. Where required, negotiate with other department managers for the acquisition of required resource from within the company, or externally.
- Set and continually manage project expectations with customers, team members and other stakeholders.
- Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
- Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
- Identify and manage projectdependencies and critical path.
- Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
- Track project milestones and deliverables.
- Coordinate with customer technical teams for Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) or User Acceptance Test (UAT), and drive the process toward achieving sign-off from customers
- Create and maintain a list of prioritized project issues register with target resolutions dates
- Track project costs, billing milestones and forecastproject financials.
- Ensure that all meetings, discussions, action plans, outcomes are clearly documented and followed-up
- Develop and deliver project progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and project presentations.
- Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
- Control scope creep and manage variation orders.
- Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
- Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.
- Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements, and contribute toward continuous project delivery improvement.
Required Skills and Experience - Degree in IT/Electronic/Broadcast engineering or equivalent.
- PMP certified (or equivalent) will be advantageous.
- 10+ years of project/technical project management experience with exposure to multimedia and/or IT environments.
- Experience in managing complex projects (up to US$4M in project size) with demanding #on-air# environment, preferably in Broadcast, Broadcast Service Provider, or Telco industries.
- Working experience with the configuration and installation of computer systems and broadcasting related equipment (hardware) in WAN and LAN environment.
- Effective at working with and influencing customer and senior management.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team of professional staff, contractors, and multi-disciplinary teams to achieve a given objective.
- A collaborative working style, team oriented with a good sense of humour and a strong work ethic
- Technical knowledge of IP networking, video/audio routers; multi-viewers; video/audio signal processing; master control switching and branding; production studios/trucks; network monitoring; and graphics will be an asset.
- Able to travel (40% - 60%).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Competency in Microsoft Office applications especially Microsoft Project.
