Job description: JOB DESCRIPTION Our client is a market leader within the International Travel Retail space. Due to business expansion, we are currently partnering them to look for a Senior Buying Manager to lead the Fashion Category team.
Responsibilities Reporting to the CCO, you are responsible for planning, buying and reaching set targets for the category. The candidate is expected to create and execute strategy for the category and maintain an overall bird's eye view of the category, be accountable for its performance and the overall P&L. Managing a team of 4-5 Buyers, you will constantly work towards improving the functionality of the team by thinking objectively and leading by example. You will build strong relationships with vendors / suppliers and negotiate business terms for new and existing business. The prosperous candidate will work closely with the Supply Chain team to ensure optimal inventory coverage and react in a timely manner to address an increase or decrease in demand across the region. You will also approve the OTB for seasonal buys. In this function, you will be part of a performance driven team with the opportunities to grow with the business.
Requirements To be prosperous in this function, you should have a Bachelor Degree in Business or related field and at least 10 years of practice in category management and retail merchandising within the Retail industry. You should have practice preferably within one or more of the following fields - luxury or consumer goods, fashion, leather goods, watches, jewellery and eyewear. You are a strong communicator with excellent interpersonal expertise to engage people at all levels. User knowledge in SAP is highly advantageous.
