Responsibilities: The Economic and Fiscal Analysis (EFA) directorate is responsible for research and analysis on a range of fiscal, economic and social policy issues key to MOF. This is done through application of economic theory, econometric modelling and data analytics methods, in partnership with internal directorates and other government agencies.
What to expect: - Monitor and analyse a wide range of issues relevant to Singapore's economy, government finances and Singaporeans' well-being
- Research on social, economic, fiscal and tax issues and developments
- Perform rigourous econometric, data analytics and cost-benefit studies to inform, evaluate and shape policies
- Help grow analytics capabilities and data availability within MOF
Requirements - Strong interest in using data to inform, design and evaluate policies
- Background in quantitative areas such as Economics, Statistics, Computer Science and Quantitative Social Sciences
- Experience or interest in data tools such as R, Strata, Tableau, Python and databases
- Ability to strategically understand issues and also drill deep to better understand policy needs
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
