Job Description Job Overview The data engineer intern will be responsible for data ETL and other data flow work to get data ready for analysis. The Data Engineer will also support our data scientists to experiment on different data sources and validate/automate machine learning models.
Responsibilities - Create and maintain data pipeline
- Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
- Build the infrastructure required for extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and ‘big data’ technologies such as HDFS, Spark.
Experience Required - SQL knowledge and experience working with various relational databases
- Interested and take initiative to learn big data technologies
- Strong coding skills, familiar with data structure and algorithms
- We are looking for a candidate whose major is in Computer Science, Statistics, Operations Research, Information Systems or another quantitative field.
- Experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages such as Python
- Experience with AWS cloud services: EC2, EMR, RDS, Redshift is a plus
