Overview / Responsibilities Wood is currently seeking a Contracts Manager to join our team in Singapore. The Contracts Manager will review preparation and negotiation of contracts, subcontracts and other agreements in line with Wood policies and procedures and the provision of general contractual advice.
Key Responsibilities: Pre-Contracts
- Act as the focal point in coordinating the review of the head contract from client's RFP. Seek input and comment from all functions ensuring proper review of the contract terms & conditions and requirements.
- Collate and present to the tender review committee, the contracting positions against the company policy, associated contractual risks and mitigations.
- Prepare the contract deviations for the proposal submission in line with the agreed position with the tender review committee.
- Submit and follow up the contracting principles deviation approval from corporate.
- Working closely with the Proposal Manager, actively support the contract terms and conditions negotiation with client and act as the focal point in the finalization and compilation of final contract documentations.
Post-Contracts
- Act as the key interface between the internal functions, the project team and Client on project contractual matters.
- Working closely with the Project Director, to protect the company by managing and mitigating the head contract risks.
- Ensure the contractual requirements, risks and liabilities is understood and disseminated to the project team. Provide advice, assistance and guidance to the project team on matters related to the head contract terms and conditions.
- Working closely with the Supply Chain function to ensure the head contract terms and conditions, risk and liabilities are appropriately flow-down to the subcontractors and vendors.
- Support the Supply Chain function in the drafting and review of terms and conditions, confidentiality agreement and other contractual/ legal matters related to subcontractors and vendors.
- Draft key communications and letters to Client related to contractual matters.
- Manage all contractual and commercial claims towards Client including preparing of detailed cost and schedule impact together with the project team. Coordinate the variations and claims negotiation with Client in line with contract requirements.
- Co-ordinate and support periodic internal contract & risk reviews with Project Director/ Project Manager and internal stakeholders.
- Resolve contract and legal matters arising during the execution of project
- Lead and manage the close out of head contract.
Skills / Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Law
- Minimum 10 years working experience in contracts management
- Experienced working in oil & gas, chemical, petrochemical EPC industry
- Sound knowledge in contracts law and contracts management
- Motivated, well organized, resourceful and proactive.
- Possess good interpersonal skills, sound written and oral communication skills
