As an adjunct Engineer (Electrical) with the Catchment & Waterways department, your main functions and responsibilities would include but not limited to:
» Operation and maintenance of electrical distribution network comprising 22kV, 6.6kV High Voltage (HV) and 400 low Voltage (LV) electrical equipment of the raw water pumping stations, transfer pumping stations, tidal gates, pond stations, ABC installations.
» Attend to scheduled Preventive and Predictive electrical maintenance of the electrical plants and equipment in the pumping stations, tidal gates, ABC installations, etc. Electrical plants and equipment include: 22kV HV Switchgears, 6.6kV HV switchgears, 6.6kV motors, 6.6kV standby generators, 400V LV Generators, 6.6kV Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) motor starters, 22/6.6kV power transformers, 6.6/0.4kV transformers, LV motors, motor starters, 400V LV Switchboards, Motor Control Centres (MCCs), control panels, actuators, submersible pumps, overhead crane motors, Cathodic Protection systems for the corrosion protection of drainage pumps and tidal gates, lightings, earthing and lightning protection systems
» Attend to urgent plant breakdown repair, whenever such need arises. He would need to work after normal office hours for such incidence
» Carry out predictive maintenance programme such as Partial discharge measurements, thermal scanning of electrical panels with the guidance of the engineers
» Perform troubling shooting and diagnostic of electrical plant faults
» Perform HV switching operations of 6.6kV switchgears for the 6.6kV generators' operation in order to support the raw water pumps operations during utility grid supply interruptions and generators' monthly on-load testing, and HV switchgears annual shutdown maintenance
» Assist the engineers in the procurement of maintenance materials and electrical maintenance services, putting up Works orders and Purchase Orders and follow up with Completion Certificates and Goods Receipt Notes submissions, and calling quotations
» Assist engineers in the preparation of specifications of annual Electrical OPEX budget preparation
» Supervise contractors' maintenance of electrical equipment, e.g. motors overhaul, annual shutdown maintenance of HV switchgears, LV Switchboards and transformer, lighting repairs, cathodic protection, earthing and Lightning Protection systems
» Assist engineers in the preparation of applications for EMI plant being maintained/replaced
» Implement Permit-To-Work (PTW) System and Safe Work procedures during electrical equipment maintenance
» Attend with the installations' Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW) inspection of the electrical installations to comply with EMA's licensing requirements
» Assist engineers in the checking of contractor's submissions and supervision of upgrading projects
» Perform switching operations at least once a month i.e. during the monthly genset testing
» Assist to drive PUB vehicle whenever required
Requirements: » Diploma in Electrical Engineering or at least 5 years of working practice in maintenance of LV and/or HV equipment
» Able to read and understand single line drawings and control drawings is an advantage
» Physically fit to rack in/out of circuit breakers during switching operations
» Possess a valid driving licence
