The Team: The CIB Global Regulatory Risk and Controls (GRR&C) team sits within CIB Operations and has responsibility for providing oversight, leadership and management of regulatory reporting controls agenda across CIB Operations. The team's remit covers:
- Regulatory change and advocacy
- Definition, delivery and implementation of Regulatory Reporting Control Framework
- Definition, delivery and implementation of Control Operating Models
- Leading cross line of business regulatory projects
- Leading the CIB's strategic transformational regulatory reporting program
- Deep dives of the Regulatory Reporting Control environment
Role Description: This Control Associate role is based in Singapore and is a part of a global regulatory risk and control team that is spread across Asia, EMEA and North America. This role provides a breadth and depth of visibility across the CIB organization with extensive cross functional and cross business exposure, and the opportunity to creatively problem solve on a broad scale. This role partners extensively with the lines of business.
Key Responsibilities - Drive the design, delivery and implementation of strong and sustainable control frameworks and operating models in the regulatory reporting environment
- Drive the execution of Control activities within the CIB Operations Regulatory Reporting space, such as the annual Risk Assessment and Report Testing exercises
- Provide oversight on regulatory reporting issues / breaches, ensuring that root causes are understood and remediation plans in implemented
- Product ownership of applications used for implementing Control processes
- Conduct trainings and roadshows
- Facilitate and lead periodic calls with cross line of business, cross regional stakeholders
- Conduct deep dive on aspects of the APAC Regulatory Reporting Controls environment
- Plan and report status of ongoing projects and tasks to senior management. Identify, mitigate and resolve risk and issues across teams, ensuring escalations to the right levels where required
Key Skills and Qualifications - Strong execution skills and experience in the implementation of global / regional cross-functional programs
- Logical and structured approach to planning and problem solving and decision-making
- Effective communication skills, with an ability to negotiate and influence different levels of stakeholders in CIB LOBs and functional areas
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to plan, prioritize and deliver against deadlines
- Significant knowledge of operational processes and controls, with good understanding of risk, controls and quality assurance functions.
- Proven ability to collaborate with partners across multiple disciplines, functions and locations
- Good Microsoft Office skills - Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Capacity to think laterally and convey an understanding of the big picture
- Strong communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills
Experience - Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
