Our Team: Wealth Management (WM) is part of the J.P. Morgan Asset Management business segment and offers customized solutions and client service to solve the complex needs of wealthy individuals and their families around the world. Wealth Management serves various client types through its Private Bank and J.P. Morgan Securities sub-lines of business.
Control Management (CM) will work in partnership with the business to identify, understand end to end, and effectively manage the business's control framework. CM will also be assisting in immediate, real time critical control issues detection, escalation, root cause analysis, and remediation.
The successful candidate will be an Associate with a proven track record in providing strong support, project management and execution, will report into the WM Asia CM Team Lead and work closely with the global program team on various activities including but not limited to Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA)/CORE. Additionally will work closely with and present to senior leaders in the region across Business Control Officers, Location Controls Officers and Operations Control Managers.
Responsibilities: - Alongside the WM Asia CM Team manage the control related activities and ensure all risks are identified, understood, mitigated and maintained
- Analyze issues identified for trends and appropriate corrective action in all affected areas. Perform root cause analysis and work with WM teams to implement best practices.
- Ensure policies and procedures provide sufficient guidance to WM teams and work with Compliance and other Control functions to identify strategic and tactical changes needed to comply with new or enhanced Corporate and Regulatory requirements.
- Co-ordinate / support relevant functions in pre audit readiness activities
- Facilitate internal control reviews and control self-Assessments testing to validate the effectiveness of key controls in the operational processes.
- Provide reporting of significant control activities (e.g. status of audits and exams, outstanding issues and corrective actions, control scorecards, etc.).
- Support WM controls with tracking and reporting of key control activities (e.g., RCSA/CORE, audits, regulatory exams, etc.).
- Support the lead of the New Business Initiative Approval (NBIA) forum
- Assist the Control Manager to develop solutions to address control concerns.
- Enter approved action plans into Global tracking tool and track status until closure.
Qualifications: - Minimum 8-12 years' experience of identifying and/or implementing financial and/or operational controls within business of a Financial Institution, preferably in WM or Asset Management.
- Relevant experience in the following areas is required: operational risk, operational control, internal and/or external audit, and management reporting or project management.
- Knowledge of/experience in Client Onboarding, AML and KYC strongly preferred.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and oral/written communication skills.
- Detail and results oriented with ability to handle multiple tasks, changing priorities and tight deadlines.
- Ability to articulate complex issues concisely and communicate effectively and comfortably with senior management
- Solid judgment and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build consensus. History of success working in a team environment.
