Job description: JOB DESCRIPTION The Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at the National University of Singapore invites applications for one Research Engineer in Structural/Civil/Offshore Engineering. The prosperous candidate will be part of a highly interdisciplinary research team consisting of structural, offshore and material research personnel, focusing on the development of Multi-Purpose Floating Structures for use in Singapore coastal and international waters. The candidate will focus on co-authoring a Design Guidelines and Recommendations for Development of Floating Structures in Singapore. This is a new guideline that will involve interfacing with various government agencies and statutory boards. The candidate is expected to be proactive in organizing meetings with internal and external parties to resolve any conflicting issues identified in the Design Guidelines.
» Applicant should have a MSc degree or equivalent, with broad expertise in offshore structures.
» Applicant with at least 5 years of practice in design and construction of offshore structures will be preferred.
» expertise of significant national/international codes of practices (DNV, ISO, API, PIANC, BS6349) is highly desirable.
» Applicant should have a good command of English, examples of technical reports and articles will be requested for evidence.
» Proficiency in drafting software like AutoCAD and collaborative software like Google Docs will be an added advantage.
