Job Description The commodities team here at Selby Jennings is currently working with a leading trading house who is looking to hire an experienced LNG Charterer.
Responsibilities Monitor market trends and develop optimal marine coverage strategy. Analyze and define best marine transportation options.
Identify optimal vessel, negotiate rates and charter party terms. Negotiate Spot in/out charters, Contracts of Affreightment (COA), and short term time charters.
Provide market research, vessel availability and freight economics, projects and commercial trading organizations.
Define all commercial and contractual details for negotiated charter party terms. Coordinate closely with schedulers to nominate tonnage in a manner that will optimize system freight costs, minimize demurrage and ensure timely delivery of cargoes.
Network and maintain relationship with market players i.e. ship-owners, brokers, customers, and end-users to keep abreast of market developments and opportunities.
Job Requirements Minimum 5-7 years of working experience in oil and gas, marine chartering, marine operations and trading experience
Minimum 3 years of working experience in marine chartering; prefer experience with LPG / LNG chartering
Experience with Forward Freight Adjustment trading
Proficient and fluent in English
Able to think independently, self-motivate, and be a team player
