Job Description

As a translator you will be tasked to handle translation duties during your regular office hours at our premises for the stated contract period. Throughout your duties you may be required to conduct research and propose recommendation in a timely manner. You will be expected to work closely with the localization manager on the project until completion.

Responsibilities

• Provision of Japanese to English translation with high degree of accuracy and consistency.
• Required to handle large volume of translation work (minimum 200,000 Japanese characters/month) and completed the assigned task within the given schedule.
• Required to research and study about franchise history as per given project.
• Correct usage of terminology based on all provided reference materials which may include TM, glossaries, external reference documentation, etc
• Ad-hoc translation support for other business needs.

From early April 2018 onwards.

Requirement

• Preferably 1 year experience in translation or relevant experience.
• Computer literacy (Windows, Word, Excel required).
• Japanese language proficiency with JLPT N1 but candidates with prior translation experience will be considered to translate Japanese to English.
• Good command in English Language is a must.
• Excellent grammar, spelling, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
• A team player.
• Matured, responsible and organized with the ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Ability to stay committed until project completion is a must.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information is a must.
